Lock the drawing set
Record the revision and measurement rules used for the take-off. Separate measured quantities from allowances and exclusions.
Investigate the differences
Compare the take-off with the bill and estimate. Check whether a difference comes from scope, measurement boundaries, units or a drawing revision.
Give the estimator a clear record
Return a short discrepancy list with drawing references and assumptions. The estimating team can then decide which items need a query, allowance or pricing change.
